New lights

Much attention has been paid the two new lights recently installed in front of the Manistee County Savings Bank which were lighted for the first time Saturday night. The lights, which were installed by the bank, are of the regular boulevard style with a special flood lighting attachment. They are equipped with two 1,100 bulbs in each lamp throwing a total of 4,400 watts of light. A reflector in each lamp throws the light upon the bank and lights the street considerably.

Fire call

Firemen answered a call last night at 7:45 to extinguish a blaze on a telephone pole on the corner of Tenth and Davis streets. An arc wire had broken off falling down against the pole, starting a small blaze. Consumers Power Co. men were summoned to fix the wire.
