Munson donates Halloween candy to troops

MANISTEE — Local residents donated their Halloween candy to support the troops and veterans this season.

Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital held the donation drive as a way to thank the troops.

Local veterans’ organizations are sorting the donated candy and send non-melting treats to U.S. troops overseas. Chocolate items will be used during veteran events.

On Facebook, Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital announced: “Thanks to everyone who donated treats for troops. We gathered nearly 180 pounds of candy.”

A gift basket was given to a luck winner, who also donated their Halloween treats.
