Area schools preparing for holiday sings and band concerts

MANISTEE — The month of December means holiday music will be playing everywhere and that is especially true in the Manistee County School buildings.

Over the course of the next several weeks the annual school holiday Christmas sings and band concerts will be taking place at a variety of locations. Parents and grandparents will be taking plenty of pictures and making videos of the children as they perform many of the holiday classics.

The Manistee Area Public Schools has plenty of activities lined up for K-12 students and the programs will be taking place at the Manistee Middle/High School auditorium.

Amanda Feyen handles the Manistee Area Public Schools elementary, middle and high school singing programs. She said they have some outstanding holiday music lined up that is sure to put everyone in the Christmas mood.

After the stage clears from the kindergarten students it will be the first grade students taking to the stage for their performance at 7 p.m. that night.

Feyen said the fun continues the following evening at the Manistee Middle/High School. The second grade will ring in the holidays at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5 with their program at the middle/high school auditorium. More holiday favorite songs will follow that performance at 7 p.m. when the third grade takes the stage for their concert.

The Manistee Area Public Schools bands will be putting their concerts on at the auditorium on two different nights.
