NANCI SWENSON: Fiber Arts Exhibit a success

What talented artists we have in the Manistee and northwestern Michigan.

Last weekend (Nov. 18), 25 fiber artists shared their quilts, tatting, rug hooking, knitting, wreath-making, sewing, linen thread making and more at the Fall Fiber Arts Exhibit at the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts. The event, sponsored by the Lakeside Club of Manistee and the RRCA, benefited both organizations and more importantly, members of the Manistee community.

The Lakeside Club will add profits to their grant program budget which will then be granted to area nonprofit organizations next fall after the 2018 Tour of Homes.

The Fall Tea was an overwhelming success thanks to all those who decorated elegant tables where over 120 people attended that event and were able to view the Fiber Arts Exhibition as well. Lakeside Club members prepared the food for the tea while, students from Bear Lake and Manistee schools volunteered to serve attendees at the event.

The success of the Fiber Arts Exhibition and Fall Tea must be contributed to the leadership of Lakeside Club members, Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts and the community for supporting this event throughout the weekend. Thank you to all who contributed and participated.
