Kuenzli to step down

Superintendent John Kuenzli will retire from his position at Manistee Area Public Schools at the end of this school year. Kuenzli has been with MAPS for 19 years.

At the Vogue

Now playing at the Vogue Theater is the remake of Walt Disney’s “Flubber” starring Robin Williams and the adaptation of the John Grisham bestseller, “The Rainmaker” starring Matt Damon and Danny Devito.

Winter parade

Cold, stormy weather kept the annual Santa Claus Parade smaller than usual on Friday night, but the folks who braved the snow made it a festive evening. The parade featured a pair of firetrucks, a small number of enthusiastic and hardy members of the Manistee High School band, Smokey the Bear, Janice Van Liere, Miss Manistee County, and Santa Claus himself.
