MANISTEE — The Manistee Salvation Army would like to thank the following groups for ringing during the 2017 Red Kettle Campaign during the Victorian Sleighbell Parade and Old Christmas Weekend on Dec. 2.

Mascots from local area businesses included Mr. Mooney from House of Flavors, Big Boy, Chip from Manistee High School, and Westy from West Shore Community College, alumni from Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, and a local brass ensemble and youth choir.

Chip from Manistee High School won the Mascot ringing challenge and the alumni from the University of Michigan collected more than their ringing rivals. In total, these groups raised more than $1,100 towards the 2017 goal of $25,000.
