LACA to host Valentines themed Kids Create workshop

LUDINGTON — Children ages three and up are invited to take part in a Valentines themed Kids Create workshop  from 6-7 p.m. on Monday at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA), 107 S. Harrison St., in Ludington.

Children will be given basic instructions on how to create a Valentines themed collage with various supplied materials. Those planning to attend are asked to wear clothing that can get messy as plenty of paints and glues will be used to create the collages.

Participants will leave their finished collages to dry at the conclusion of the workshop and are invited to return to the center, along with their family and friends, to view their art work on display Thursday evening, on Feb. 1 during a special artist reception in the LACA Main Gallery from 6-7 p.m.

The reception will feature snacks and give the young artists a chance to show off their creations to family, friends and community members. The public is encouraged to attend the reception and support the area’s young artists.

Parents/guardians are free and asked to attend the workshop. For more information or to register in advance contact the LACA at (231) 845-2787. Registration will also take place at the beginning of the workshop. The Feb. 1 artist reception is free and open to the public.
