Michigan State Waterways Commission to meet Feb. 23 in Lansing

LANSING — The Michigan State Waterways Commission will hold its next work session and regular meeting on Feb. 23, at the Foster Community Center at 200 North Foster St. in Lansing. The work session will begin at 9 a.m. and the public meeting is set to start at 1 p.m.

The commission is an advisory group created by Public Act 451 of 1994, Part 781 to address issues concerning public boating opportunities in the state of Michigan, including acquisition, construction and maintenance of recreational harbors, channels, docking and launching facilities; administration of commercial docks in the Straits of Mackinac; and to advise on regulations and grant funding for the Great Lakes Harbors of Refuge.

Topics for the meeting may include, but are not limited to: State and grant-in-aid project updates; financial updates; general updates; and other committee updates.
