Change of venue for Manistee Conservation District’s annual meeting

MANISTEE COUNTY — There has been a change of venue for the Manistee Conservation District’s annual meeting and board elections.

Originally scheduled for the Bungalow Inn Restaurant, the event will now take place at the Brown Township Hall, located at 8233 Coates Highway in Manistee. The date for the meeting is still from 6-8 p.m. on March 16.

In addition to board elections, the evening’s events will feature a Solar Power Workshop, led by Bear Lake homeowner and solar expert Jeff Burns. Due to requests from the public that the conservation district holds another Solar workshop, this will be a repeat of the very well-attended fall program. The presentation will again be Phase I of a two-part workshop. Phase II will be an onsite workshop, which will take place later in 2018 on Burns’ property in Bear Lake.

The primary purpose of annual meetings at the Manistee Conservation District is three-fold: 1) to bring the community together to learn about and discuss current conservation concerns, 2) to hold board elections, and 3) to underscore the importance of a conservation district presence in Manistee County.

Everyone in the community is invited to attend. Please RSVP no later than March 13 by contacting the Manistee Conservation District at (231) 889-9666.
