Elberta sewer line breaks

The Record-Eagle

ELBERTA — A sewer line that runs beneath Betsie Bay broke and has been shut off.

Elberta Village Clerk Becky Addis reported the break in the “major sewer line” in an email sent Wednesday. The line has since been shut down, but village officials will utilize pumper trucks from the lift station to prevent a disruption in village service.

The line runs beneath Betsie Bay and runs into the Betsie Lake Utilities Authority, the email indicates. Officials continue reviewing service options located between Betsie River and the authority.

Village officials will work with professionals in hopes of quickly developing a plan to repair the break.
