Winter’s return

Winter looked like it was just about over yesterday, but this morning Manistee awoke to a wet, three-inch blanket of new snow. Temperatures are expected to remain below normal for the rest of the week, but little additional snowfall is expected.

“Goodbar” at Vogue

Now playing at the Vogue Theatre is “Looking for Mr. Goodbar” starring Diane Keaton and Tuesday Weld. Showtimes for the remainder of this week are 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Bear Lake Equipment plans big open

Arrival of the new Ford Diesel prompts the big Open House celebration March 22-29 at the Bear Lake Equipment Co. During the celebration there will be prizes, refreshments and other features still to be worked out. The new diesel tractor is the first United State built Ford diesel and the lowest priced in their class.

80 YEARS AGO

Tests

Intelligence tests for pupils of the kindergartens of the city are being distributed and tests will be given by teachers this week. The tests to be given is the first of a series of four which every pupil takes during his elementary and secondary school attendance.

New York men fly here

Approximately 30 Manistee manufacturers and businessmen joined last night in an informal reception for three New York businessmen who flew here yesterday for an inspection visit at the Arcadia Furniture Company in Arcadia and to investigate the possibilities of a connection with that company.
