BRAD NEWPORT: Mass media used to control beliefs, opinions

TO THE EDITOR:

The 1st Amendment has a specific purpose, to protect speech that is “hated” by the general public. Today, we see speech that is “hated” by particular groups being used to undermine our 1st Amendment.

Regarding our 2nd Amendment, please allow me to describe two declassified operations of the U.S. government that may help shed light onto modern mass media events.

Operation Mockingbird — total infiltration of the American mass media apparatus by the CIA; used to manipulate beliefs, opinions and emotions of American citizens.

Operation Northwoods — a psychological war operation approved by all U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff but rejected by President Kennedy. This operation entailed a series of mass media events created to demonize and justify war against Cuba by creating fake funerals and fake injuries of Americans through (a) blowing up planes full of American school children on spring break, (b) orchestrated bombings in Miami/Washington D.C., (c) attacking U.S. military bases and capturing fake enemy soldiers with fraudulent admissions of guilt, etc.

While agencies employing such tactics may have changed names, the use of psychological warfare through the American mass media is very important in controlling the beliefs, opinions and emotions of American citizens.

Currently, 90 percent of what Americans see, hear and read is controlled by six international corporations, down from 50 independent companies of the past. If the mass media is influencing your emotions through fear, please be aware of possible alternative agendas (e.g. destruction of our 2nd Amendment through media events like school or crowd shootings, destruction of foreign nations through media events like 9/11 or Boston Bombing).

The term “conspiracy theory” was first promoted by the U.S. government and U.S. mass media after the assassination of President Kennedy, directed against critical thinking Americans who did not believe the official “lone-gunman” story.

Our U.S. court systems handle “conspiracy theories” on a daily basis, when it comes to poor or or low-level criminals that conspire against small numbers of people; however, when wealthy, powerful criminals conspire to commit crimes or wars against large masses of people or nations then this fact of life is labeled as a crazy “conspiracy theory” to deflect from thoughtful investigation.

Language controls the emotions of humans, as any con-man, religious-cult, tyrannical-government understands well; since they all seek to prevent critical thought by controlling human emotions. Sadly, many victims adopt a behavior called Stockholm Syndrome; whereby, victims support their abusers as a form of group survival/denial-of-reality.

Please awaken your mind, through the understandings of great men:

George Washington: “When one side only of a story is heard and often repeated, the human mind becomes impressed with it insensibly.”

J. Edgar Hoover: “The individual is handicapped by coming face-to-face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists.”

Heraclitus (500 BC): “Because it is sometimes so unbelievable, the truth escapes being known.”
