Kelly Lyman, Title 1 teacher and K-3 literacy coach, opened up her classroom and provided an assortment of muffins as well as juice and coffee and the “Muffins with Mom” event became a reality.

Students and Moms were fully immersed in reading together from the large variety of book choices in the classroom and the response to the event was better than expected. Coffee, juice, and muffins were provided to the school by Blarney Castle and the Onekama EZ Market.

In a couple weeks, it will be time for “Donuts with Dad,” another opportunity for the Onekama School community to bring together parents and children, and to encourage and celebrate reading.
