Shoreline Showcase announces summer line-up

MANISTEE — The Manistee Shoreline Showcase announces its summer 2018 concert line-up.

The volunteer, nonprofit has been hosting free summer concerts since 2002, and includes professional top quality jazz, blues, pop and R&B music. Concerts are located at the First Street Beach Rotary Gazebo on Tuesday nights beginning at 7 p.m.

The shows are free to the public, but donations are always welcome to help support bringing great music to Manistee. The following artists are scheduled from June 19 to Aug. 24:

• June 19: “Mary Rademacher Reed and the Tom Hagen Trio”; pop, jazz and show tunes performed with tasteful charm and spunk;

• June 26: “Biscuit Miller and The Mix”; high energy funky blues;

• July 3: “The Big Boss Band”; honest, earthy and genuine roots rock and blues;

• July 10: “Paul Kellers At Sundown Quintet”, featuring Straight-Ahead jazz and swing, with a fun and surprising presentation;

• July 17: “Tell Yo Mama” — a funky seven piece jam machine performs “music that moves you”;

• July 24: “James Cloyd Group” — blues-fused rockin’ R&B;

• July 31: “Planet “D” Nonet Down and Dirty 9 piece” swing band from Detroit plays Ellington to Basie to Sun Ra;

• August 7: Benny Reeves Commanding Motown and “down home” blues from Detroit;

• August 14: “Jeremiah Johnson Band”; the voice of the Mississippi River inspired by Alvin Lee, Eric Clapton and Hank William Sr and Jr.;

• August 21: Jenna Mammina Exquisite and critically acclaimed San Francisco jazz/pop vocalist; and

• August 24: “Sunset Groove” an energetic mix of Blues/Rock and R&B.
