Manistee Area Tea Party, GOP to host annual picnic

MANISTEE — The Manistee Area Tea Party, in conjunction with the Manistee County Republican Party, will hold its fifth annual picnic this week.

The event will begin at noon on Friday at the Lions Pavilion at First Street Beach in Manistee.

The Tea Party and GOP will have two guest speakers this year — Ray Franz, former state Representative for the 101st District and current candidate for state Senator in the 35th District, and the Rev. Dr. Richard Ziele, current co-president of the Michigan State Board of Education. Ziele is a candidate for the State Board of Education in the November general election.

Those who attend are asked to bring a dish to pass, a serving utensil and their own beverage (water will be provided). Sloppy joes plates, cups napkins and silverware will be provided.
