Nashon Holloway returns to Michigan Legacy Art Park

THOMPSONVILLE — After a highly praised performance last year, Nashon Holloway will return by popular demand to perform on Aug. 11, at Michigan Legacy Art Park for the 2018 Summer Sounds concert series, presented by Mo and Linda White.

The award-winning artist and her band blend authentic songwriting with folk, funk and jazz to create music that is accessible and heartfelt. The group’s 2016 album The Palace and the Hut was called “a powerful debut” by Local Spins, and named one of the top five west Michigan releases in 2016 by Revue magazine.

“She blew our audience away right from the first note last year. We knew we had to bring her back, and we are so excited to have Nashon and her band close our our 2018 series with a bang,” said event organizer Troy DeShano. “Anyone who enjoys live music will love this concert.”

Holloway has performed on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” with David Foster, Jazz at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. In addition to being a recording and performing artist, she teaches private voice to children and visits alternative schools, juvenile homes, churches and hospitals in an effort to collaborate with students of all ages on music as healing, communication and artistic therapy.

Admission has a cost, and free for kids 12 and under. Tickets and event details can be found on the Art Park website or by calling (231) 378-4963.
