JIM CARMICHAEL: ‘Defends Christianity’ from progressive party

TO THE EDITOR:

Subject: Sure – this word means certain, unmistakable, confident, unquestionable, unfailing, etc.

Object is the political scene that claimed that they can create the perfect world through your tax dollars and stupidity. More education, more highway repairs, more rights for everybody, more monthly food stamps and a tree which shed its dollars every month for the sick, lame and lazy.

The reason I am writing is because I too am a critic like the news media, I sit home and read all about the wonderful Disney world in our future by the vote of the sick, lame and lazy. A critic must be able to know quality, qualify as a critic, use the quantity of information, be quick enough to spy the flaws in the subject and be able to pass any quiz as to its subject.

I wish to defend Christianity as found in the Holy Word of God and the person of our Lord Jesus Christ from the progressive party. He was the one 2,000 years ago who revealed a true welfare system built on charity without taxation. He would never fatten a political party for the said purpose of making that nation dependent on government but on a new heart that the many in the progressive movement would not understand.

Those seeking public office present themselves as some Messiah. They for the most part hook that taxpayer as one who already owes $161,022 in back taxes. A family of four is in debt around $640,000. You say, are you sure? Tomorrow add another $200.

God has a perfect plan in mind for the creation of His world. His Son will return after the false leaders, wars and rumors of war, famines, changes in weather patterns, lawlessness at the boarders and in Washington, Moscow, Iraq and Korea. There will never be peace until the heart of men come to that place is for sure and assured by God.

The reason why I seek to write is to tell the people that our nation was built by our Christian fathers who were not only lovers of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for all her people. A people filled with Christian brotherhood, a nation of people who believed that when they heard the press and politicians they were sure to hear the truth. The were sure that no man can be really sure as long as we leave out the sure and living God.

I watched a little old lady in the store along with her husband tagging along behind. She went to the bread counter and there she squeezed the bread; she stopped next at the bananas, then to the grapes. I was sure that she was sure that whatever she bought was sure to be the right one.

Friends of Manistee, let’s get back to God’s welfare program and use our dollars to help the needy around the world, just as our Lord would have us do.
