Buckley Old Engine Show slated for Aug. 16-19

BUCKLEY — The 51st Annual Buckley Old Engine Show will be held this week.

The event will take place Thursday through Sunday at the Buckley Old Engine Show grounds, located at 6090 W 2 1/2 Road in Buckley.

There over 1,000 antique steam, gas and diesel tractors, 1900s front street with blacksmith, cobbler shop, print shop and newspaper, barber shop, general store, depot, switch house and 1886 Mayfield township hall.

Visitors can see spinning wheels, looms, rope making and other old time necessities, ride two steam trains — the 1918 American and the 1948 Spirit of Traverse city; view antique cars and trucks, steam engines, 1800s saw mill, wooden bowl mill, shingle mill, and 1907 1,100 horse power snow engine.

There will be hands-on farm exhibits in the Weber Barn. Learn to drive an antique John Deere tractor in the Buckley Tractor Driving School. The event includes a 400 lot flea market, food, 1906 cider mill, tractor games, more than 600 antique gas and oil engines, farming exhibits, arts and crafts, old time music and much more.

There is an entry fee for adults; there is no charge for children under 15.
