KALEVA — The Blue Water Ramblers put an exclamation point on this summer’s Log Cabin Concert Series on Friday night at the Log Cabin Theater in Kaleva.

The folk trio represented the final featured act for 2018, as Manistee County’s longest running outdoor summer concert series closed out a successful 20th season.

The summer series is presented by the Kaleva Historical Society and sponsored by Kaleva businesses. The series’ stage — an historic Finnish-style cabin, dating back to over a century — was brought to its current location (the corner of Panu and Walta streets) in the late 1990s through an award-winning service learning project.

Brethren High School students disassembled, transported and rebuilt the cabin through the mentorship of former educator Doyle Eckhardt and the structure has been a local landmark and site of the concert series ever since.

Each August, the free Log Cabin Concert Series features local and/or regional musicians every Friday night.
