Ludington Area Center for the Arts to show ‘Battleship Potenkim’

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area Cener for the Arts’ Film Committee will show the film “Battleship Potenkim” next week.

The film will be shown at 7 p.m. on Thursday as part of its monthly film series at Ludington Area Center for the Arts, located at 107 S. Harrison St. in Ludington.

There is a charge for admission. Tickets can be turned in for a free bag of WESCO popcorn. Those in attendance will be entered in a drawing for a gift card to Scotty’s; the winning ticket will be drawn at the conclusion of the movie.

The film takes place in the midst of the Russian Revolution of 1905, the crew of the battleship Potemkin mutiny against the brutal, tyrannical regime of the vessel’s officers. The resulting street demonstration in Odessa brings on a police massacre.
