Celebrate Valentines Day during LACA’s ‘An Intimate Evening with…’ series

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) announced that Ruthann Eilers will be the next performer in the art center’s “An Intimate Evening with…” series on Thursday.

The monthly “An Intimate Evening with…” series features different artists, musicians, dancers, writers, etc. who will perform their talent in an intimate gallery setting to an active audience.

During her performance Eilers will tell a wide array of stories, some tongue in cheek and some serious, during her program entitled “Love & Other Costly Stuff.”

With deep roots in the Southern tradition of storytelling. Born in Michigan, she was surrounded by storytellers and poets from the time she can remember. Her family moved to Georgia in 1976, and it was there that her love for the art and culture of stories truly took root.

For 13 years, Eilers traveled the U.S. to share her stories with hundreds of schools, churches, universities and festivals. She now lives in New Era, with her husband, Tom; daughter, Tessa; and Callie the “Wonder Dog.”

“An Intimate Evening with” will run from 7-9 p.m. in LACA’s Main Gallery. Tickets can be purchased at the LACA Office by calling (231) 845-2787 or at the door.

The “An Intimate Evening with…” series will continues on the second Thursday of each month. Accoridian player Bob Zahrobsky will perform as part of the series on March 14.
