West Shore Bank announces new Frankfort art exhibit

FRANKFORT — West Shore Bank’s Frankfort office is pleased to welcome a new art exhibit from Jill Van Dyke beginning Feb.14.

A “meet the artist” reception is planned from 3-5 p.m. on Feb.15, and the community is invited to meet and view her collection of artwork.

Van Dyke is playful, clairvoyant artist. She currently lives in Benzonia with her father, Clifford Van Dyke. Before this new chapter of her life, she lived in Colorado for 22 years.

She was a hat and clothing designer earlier, caregiver and therapeutic body worker. Then a brain injury opened a new paradigm where the intuitive realm became much more real.

Art practice helps her to focus in present time – clay play, painting and drawing and healing mediums for exploring the unknown.

Van Dyke finds inspiration from other artists, such as Marc Chagall, “the painter as magician-artist who transforms the visible world into poetry.”

You might ask yourself, “How can I find a place for this art work in my heart?” or “How can I build a bridge between this art and my deeper concerns?”

The public is invited to view this exhibit at West Shore Bank’s Frankfort office located at 501 Main St. during normal banking hours. Some of Van Dyke’s small acrylic paintings, drawings and assemblage will be displayed and for sale from Feb.14 through June 19.

The exhibit is free of charge. For additional information, call (231) 352-9655.
