The first official day of spring arrived on Wednesday, and although temperatures were chilly, there were plenty of people out enjoying the transition into the new season, such as walking downtown or taking a bike ride around local neighborhoods.

The first day of spring, or the vernal equinox, means the days will continue to grow longer and the snow will begin to disappear.

True to northern Michigan form, the temperatures will continue to fluctuate throughout the next week, but the sunny skies predicted in the forecast are a sure sign that warmer temperatures will soon be on the way.
