BEAR LAKE — Firefighters extinguished a small blaze at a residence on Lynn Street in Bear Lake this afternoon.

The fire was reported around 3:50 p.m., and during the initial call Manistee County Central Dispatch said there were visible flames.

Bear Lake Township Fire chief Sean Adams said the fire was put out within 20 minutes. He said it was a “small fire” located at the back of the garage at the residence.

“It (started) outside of the garage from the leaves and debris,” Adams said.

Onekama Township Fire Department crews were called to assist, but they were soon called off. No injuries were reported.
