Matesich passes on tradition to new KND superintendent

Household Hazardous Waste collection adding items in 2013

The Manistee County Household Hazardous Waste collection will be taking place on Saturday Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Manistee County Road Commission building. Downtown facade work continues with Nails 2000 building

The Nails 2000 building, located at 365 River St. in Manistee, is being re-painted as part of the Manistee Main Street/Downtown Development Authority’s facade grant program. The program uses DDA funds to help downtown business owners improve their building’s facade by granting 50 percent of project costs up to $5,000.

Roof trusses were installed at the First Street Beach shelter Monday. The project contractor, Tridonn Construction, has recently outlined a detailed construction schedule for the remainder of the project, which is scheduled to be complete by July 4.
