Memorial Day services were held in Manistee on Monday to honor those who gave their life in service to their country. The Manistee County United Veterans placed wreaths at various cemeteries around the area. A Memorial Day Parade was also held in Manistee with a memorial service that followed at Veterans Memorial Park.
The Manistee High School class of 2014 held commencement exercises on Saturday evening at the school gymnasium. Speaker for the night were valedictorian Sarah Chandler and Jefferson Elementary School principal Andy Huber. A total of 117 graduates received diplomas that evening.
