MARGARET TENNANT: Liberals are to blame for current economic problems

I am responding to Ron Dzwonkowski’s column published in the Jan. 5 edition of the Pioneer, “Showing more grey”.

It may be true there are more seniors in Michigan, but that’s where the truth ends.

NAFTA took many jobs out of the state of Michigan. When a family has no work, they leave the state to look for work. The mortgage fiasco by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd really put the nail in the coffin of Michigan and other states.

So when Ron, a liberal, used this space on the editorial page to blame Gov. Snyder for his position that two people of the same sex do not constitute a family.

Two people of the same sex will never create children.

The lefties sure have a confabulated view of facts. After 100 years of liberalism, this is the mess they have created.

I had to go back and look at Mr. Dzwonkowski’s article after reading this letter. Here is how I imagine a conversation between the two authors might go:

Rob Dzwon: Hi Margi, Lets start off with the numbers I mentioned that show MI is becoming top heavy with elderly people who adhere to an out-dated, old world view.

Margi Tenn: Ok Rob, I am not contesting your numbers they show what they show. But remember I represent that remark and I do take offense. Some things never go out of date, even if you want to call it old world.

Dzwon: I can see your point. Can we agree that tax reform and business breaks will not provide much of an inducement to bring youth back to MI

Tenn: I won’t come out and argue that point with you either although I do reserve the right to discount it later. My question is who wants or need those young hooligans coming back? Things went pretty well for me the way things are so why is there a need to change?

Dzwon: What was pretty good for you might not have been so good for others and may help explain why MI is in the situation it finds itself in now. We are getting to the heart of the conversation now. Can we agree that denying health benefits to same sex partners is regressive and bigoted?

Tenn: Whoa right there Robby boy. That is a sensitive issue, one I do not believe you are qualified to have an opinion on. I think it is time for me to pull out the tried and true blame game card. NAFTA* and the mortgage fiasco should be the focus of any conversation we have about the tough times MI is currently in. If you like we can expand the conversation to include throwing Democrats and Liberals under the bus.

Dzwon: Ok… Does that mean you would be willing to let those who are not encumbered by or share your particular old world view to take the reins of leadership?

Tenn: Not if they are Democrats, liberals or gay. You know two people of the same sex will never create children? I admit to being a disciple of Mike Church** and he is telling me to stop talking to you because you are a Decepticon.

Dzwon: Well thanks for sharing, don’t trip over your tail as you leave.
