Area Roundup: Mohawks pull away from Tri County

HOWARD CITY — Morley Stanwood’s boys basketball team overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to take down Tri County 65-58 on Tuesday.

Morley Stanwood coach Josh Bull credited his team’s halftime adjustments and half court execution in the win.

“We did a better job of getting back in transition,” he said. “It was a lot like a playoff atmosphere, in that we had to grind out possessions and score in the half court offense. The guys executed their half courts sets really well for us.”

The Mohawks were led by Tim Cairnduff with 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Travis McCuaig scored 19 points. Tylor Ahrens added 10 points, 10 rebounds and four steals in the win.
