Dundee Cabela’s store to reopen Friday after fire

DUNDEE — Cabela’s in Dundee, the outdoor retailer which was temporarily closed after an electrical fire last week, is set to reopen at 4 p.m. on Friday.

“Our team is eager to get our store put back together,” Joe Ross, general manager for the Dundee Cabela’s, said in a statement. “We can’t wait until we can open the doors and welcome our customers back.”

While a fire early Wednesday morning did not cause structural damage, it filled the store with smoke and soot. Employees and outside contractors have been removing damaged merchandise, cleaning the air — and scrub the walls and fixtures in the 225,000 square-foot store.

In addition to reopening, the retailer said it will honor sale prices at the store from its Warm Up To Savings and Let’s Go Camping promotions through May 12.
