Police cite woman for driving on suspended license

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls on Wednesday. All calls might not be reported.

  • Police cited a 55-year-old Big Rapids woman for driving on a suspended driver’s license at 8:36 a.m. during a traffic stop on the 500 block of South State Street.
  • Police responded at 12:33 p.m. for a failure to pay for gas that occurred on Monday on the 700 block of South State Street. The driver pre-paid for $25 and then pumped $32, police said. The complainant advised they did not call the police on Monday due to not obtaining the plate information. The suspect allegedly drove through the lot Thursday, leading them to call, police said.
  • Police took a walk-in stalking complaint at 1:53 p.m. at DPS offices. An ex-boyfriend sent 30 text messages in a day to his former girlfriend.
  • Police responded at 10:55 p.m. to a traffic complaint. A vehicle was driving to White Cloud with a trailer with no lights on. A wrecker was called for the offending trailer, police said.
