Roses & Thorns

ROSES
…to the folks at God’s Kitchen at St. Michael’s in Remus, and other such outreaches throughout the area, for the great work the volunteers do in service to their extended communities. “Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.”

…to all those who continue to support the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center with donations and prayers. The dedication last week was just one stage in the continuing project. There is still much to do. Please donate whatever you can today.

…to the team at the Big Rapids Community Garden. Even though they can certainly grow their own roses, we would still like to honor this project which makes garden space available to folks who may not have enough room at home for a good sized vegetable garden, or a place simply to grow some daisies. A great idea, run by a great group of volunteers

THORNS
…to the lowlifes who busted up the Stanwood Elementary building recently. Really??? This is the best you could do? What a sad and desperate life people lead – whoever did this – that the best plan they can generate for an evening’s entertainment is to simply destroy something for destruction’s sake. Too bad. And be sure, eventually this will come back to bite ya.
