BIG RAPIDS — After the lights, trees and wreaths were taken to various homes and businesses, the Big Rapids Hospital Foundation grossed $20,100 from ticket sales, raffle sales and auction proceeds during the Festival of Trees.

The annual event event celebrates Christmas and features holiday décor charity auction. Sponsors provided decorated trees and wreaths along with other festive items to be sold to the highest bidder.

Tom Hogenson, director of community relations for Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital, said there were record ticket sales for this year’s event. This year, money raised from the event will go toward the recently added single-patient rooms.
