Mt. Clemens man charged in attack on pregnant girlfriend

MOUNT CLEMENS — A Mt. Clemens woman who is nearly six months’ pregnant said her boyfriend choked her and punched her in the stomach multiple times during an attack last week, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Alonzo Frazier, 29, was charged with one count each of aggravated domestic violence and disorderly drunk by the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office and one count each of domestic violence and assault and battery by the Clinton Township Police Department. He’s being held in lieu of $28,000 bail on all charges, according to the Macomb County Jail Web site.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the couple’s Shadyside Drive apartment around 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 23. Once there, a 28-year-old woman told them her boyfriend grabbed her hair, threw her onto a bed and punched her in the face and head. She said he them choked her until she lost consciousness. She awoke on the floor, and the man was punching her in the stomach, she said.

The man fled the apartment before police arrived, but was taken into custody a short time later.
