PAM SCARBROUGH: Congress needs to pay more attention to U.S. citizens

To the editor:

I’m writing this letter in protest against the way our country is run.

This is not a bash on the president per se, just about the government. I’m disgusted with the way our government is helping America’s low income, senior citizens and working people, who are barely making it.

Why can’t the government help out with the propane shortage? I sit and worry about my in-laws and family members that cannot afford to pay $3.89 per gallon, for propane. Many of them can only afford to purchase 200 gallons at a time. What it cost them for the propane is 75 percent of their monthly income.

I also worry about my children that are working but they’re just scraping by. I see them struggling to buy food, pay bills and now try to purchase health care.

How can you be positive when your own government sends millions of dollars to help people in foreign lands. When all they want to do is kill each other because of religious beliefs. That sounds stupid to me!

Government officials need to pull their heads out of their butts and pay more attention to our people; instead of thinking about how much more money they can make pushing through bills with all the other crap attached.

We need the United States caring for their own.

Pam Scarbrough – You hit the nail right on the head. Our government cares absolutely nothing about the people that elect them. I am in favor of term limits. Maybe 2 terms in office is sufficient. DO YOUR JOB AND THEN GO BACK HOME AND GO TO WORK !!! No more special medical plans and retirement plans. Go back to work and and pay for OBAMACARE like the rest of the people that put you in office. It is about time that the American citizen took back the government and throw these leaches to the dogs. They only care about themselves and lining their pockets at our expense. They only work part time and even then, they can’t get the job done on time. I once saw a bumper sticker that read “NEVER RE-ELECT ANYBODY”
