Bicycle club to hold meeting at Senior Center

MECOSTA – A newly formed bicycle club will host an informational meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5, at the Mecosta County Senior Center.

“The senior center is not organizing the club,” said Beth Whyte, Senior Center program coordinator. “I had two people come to me who are not a part of the Senior Center but are a part of a bicycle club down south in the winter. They said, ‘We have such beautiful trails here. We would love to start something like we do down on the Gulf shore here in Michigan.’”

The group, which is open to people of all ages in the community, will ride local trails, including Rails to Trails.

“It’s a group of people who want to get together and go for a ride,” Whyte said. “It sounds like they will do a couple of trips a week once it is up and running.”

For more information, contact the Senior Center at (231) 972-2884.
