POLICE BLOTTER: Money reported stolen from wallet on Michigan Avenue

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls on Tuesday. All calls might not be reported.

  • A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:54 a.m. near Perry Avenue and Division Street. A semi-truck tapped the back of a passenger car, resulting in very minor damage. The truck driver was cited.
  • Money was reportedly stolen from a wallet on the 300 block of North Michigan Avenue. A possible suspect was identified. The investigation in ongoing.
  • Officers performed an area check at 6:25 p.m. for a manhole cover that was moved. It was put back in place.
  • Officers responded to a report of stolen dogs at 9:50 p.m. from the 100 block of North Stewart Avenue. A 3-year-old yellow lab and a 16-week-old golden retriever were missing from the front yard.
