Rodney man in jail following a late night argument

MECOSTA COUNTY — A late night argument landed a 43-year-old Rodney man is behind bars after ramming his vehicle into his neighbor’s vehicle.

According to Mecosta County Sheriff’s Deputies, at approximately 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, the suspect got into an argument with his neighbor while parked in the neighbor’s driveway located near the intersection of 17 Mile Road and 90th Ave. He proceeded to ram into the vehicle three times before driving away from the scene.

One person standing between the two vehicles told police he had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. Two people were in the vehicle that was rammed and one was injured during an attempt to get out of the car. Those injuries were minor and the person refused medical attention, police said.

After fleeing the scene, the suspect’s damaged vehicle broke down near Evart, Mich. where a family member picked him up to take him to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office to turn himself in to police. The suspect was later taken to the Mecosta County Jail.

The man is now facing charges for felonious assault, felony malicious destruction of property and driving without a license.

Law enforcement is not releasing the man’s name until he is arraigned in court.
