BIG RAPIDS — When it comes to promoting art and humanities, Artworks is a place for the community to learn, discover and create multiple forms of art.

The wide and varied programs demand a trained and steady hand on the helm.

On Friday, March 27, Artworks announced Denise Cosper accepted the position as Artworks Director of Educational Programs.

“I’m really excited for the new job,” Cosper said. “I have been teaching and have not been doing much public relations or event coordination and I missed it.”

According to a press release, Cosper has close to 20 years of experience organizing and promoting events for educational entities and community organizations in Mississippi and Michigan. She also brings 12 years of of experience teaching college writing at Ferris State University and Mississippi State University.

“Denise is a great addition to our team at Artworks because she is passionate about learning new things and helping Artworks connect with more of our community,” said Lynne Scheible, Artworks executive director in a press release. “We continue to have great things happening at Artworks in the near future, and Denise is going to be an essential part of that.”

Cosper began working with Artworks on Monday, March 16, and is excited to begin the new programs and release information on summer camps.

“I have always enjoyed the classes at Artworks,” Cosper said. “It’s a good organization and I am excited to help promote them.”
