Bikers for Books presents at Wheatland Township Library

BIKERS FOR BOOKS: Close to 20 bikers paraded through the streets of Remus on June 28 with one purpose in mind — raising awareness of the importance of reading. The bikers were part of a nonprofit organization called Bikers for Books. Children, parents and bikers spent the afternoon at the library taking pictures on bikes provided by Lakeside Motorsports and learning about the benefits of reading. The event also brought in around $100 in donations from the community for the library. “It was a very nice, wonderful day,” said Becky Kurtz, library director. “We couldn’t ask for better people.” (Courtesy photo)
