POLICE BLOTTER: Officers unable to find large group yelling in alley

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls between Monday and Wednesday. All calls might not be reported.


  • Police responded to a disorderly person at 11:54 a.m. on the 1200 block of Perry Avenue.
  • Officers were called about a personal protection order (PPO) violation at 5:56 p.m. on the 1300 block of Catherine Street.
  • Police received a report at 11:20 p.m. of a large group yelling in alley near the 200 block of Second Avenue. Officers checked, but did not find anyone in the area.


  • Police received a report of a man walking and stumbling in the roadway at 1:06 a.m. on Bjornson Street near Milton Avenue. Officers did not locate the subject.
  • Police received a prowling complaint at 11:34 p.m. at Parkview Village Apartments. The 52-year-old suspect was identified. He was found to be intoxicated.


  • Police were called to a disorderly subject at 1:46 a.m. on the 100 block of Perry Avenue.
  • Officers performed an area check at 4:22 a.m. for a man digging through the dumpster at Parkview Village Apartments. Police were unable to locate the man.
  • Police received a report of a domestic incident at 5:28 a.m. on the 900 block of Loudon Street. No further information was provided.
