Trees removed in Mitchell Creek Park

BRANCHING OUT: Wonsey Tree Service removed several trees in Mitchell Creek Park on Monday as part of ongoing improvements to the park. Officials were concerned the heavy branches of the trees could pose a threat to the gazeebo under construction near the restroom building, according to Rick Wonsey, vice president of the tree service company. “It’s old and dangerous,” he said of a willow he worked to remove. “A lot of people were worried it would fall on the dome of the gazebo.” (Pioneer photo/Adam Gac)
