POLICE BLOTTER: Estranged husband damages drywall at Parkview Village apartment

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls on Tuesday. All calls might not be reported.


  • A vehicle accident occurred at 7:59 a.m. on Hemlock Street near State Street. The at-fault driver was cited.
  • Officers received a fraud complaint at 12:30 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A vehicle accident occurred at 3:57 p.m. on State Street near Linden Street. The at-fault driver was cited.
  • Officers performed a wellbeing check at 4:30 p.m. on the 200 block of North Third Avenue. All was found to be fine.
  • Police handled a walk-in complaint of malicious destruction of property at 4:26 p.m. at DPS.
  • Officers received a malicious destruction of property complaint at Parkview Village Apartments. A 23-year-old man punched a hole in drywall of the residence of his estranged 28-year-old wife. The case was sent to the city attorney.
  • Police investigated a suspicious situation on the 700 block of North Fourth Avenue.
