Reed City Council to decide on tire purchase, fire contract

REED CITY — Members of the Reed City Council are set to discuss and take action on several items during their meeting set for 7 p.m. on Monday, at the council chambers, located at 227 E. Lincoln Ave.

The council has a handful of items it will complete under unfinished business, including a revised resolution for department head/administrative employee’s salaries, review of bids for residential solid waste removal and the sale of the city’s fire department’s tender 2.

Council members also will take a look at new items before the board, including obtaining a new copier and printer for the fire department, the purchase of tires for public works vehicles, the 2016-17 fire department contract with Pinora Township and a police department snowmobile grant.

City Manager Ron Howell is expected to present several items to the council, including to file a pre-application to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Yoplait sewer charges, a request from Yoplait for contractor’s use of Pompeii’s lot and veteran’s memorial park.

Mayor Karen Lea McKinney also is expected to make appointments to various city boards during the meeting.
