Exploring Isle Royale

Isle Royale

THE WONDER OF MICHIGAN’S ISLE ROYALE: Visitors to the Granger Center on Ferris State University’s campus Monday evening were treated to a unique look at Michigan’s Isle Royale National Park through the eyes of photographer Marilyn Kiegley. With a room packed to the brim with local attendees, Kiegley showed images of her many adventures on the island. Photographs ranged from intricate rock formations to the native fauna and unique plant life on the island. Above, Kiegley explains to her audience the Greenstone Ridge, and the sights that many hikers along the roughly 42-mile-long trail can see. (Pioneer photos/Justin McKee)
