POLICE BLOTTER: Officers called about suspicious vehicle on Darwin Avenue

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls on Monday. All calls might not be reported.


  • Police were called about a suspicious vehicle on the 1500 block of Darwin Avenue. A “suspicious white van” parks out front often, according to the resident. The van belongs to a resident on Loudon Street. The person sits in the car in the morning and afternoon waiting for the bus.
  • Officers handled a non-sufficient funds check complaint.
  • Officers received a complaint of suspicious activity on the 800 block of North State Street.
  • Police received a complaint of a loose dog on the 1800 block of Milton Avenue. A brown lab was caught and taken to the shelter.
  • Officers performed a well-being check at 6:37 p.m. on the 700 block of Maple Street. All was found to be fine.
