Reed City 6, Kent City 1
KENT CITY — Katie Reed scored two goals while Kate Latin, Alanna Nelson, Taylor Harrison and Marina Angious  had one apiece in Reed City’s five-goal Central State Activities Association win on Wednesday. Karlie Kerns had three assists while Megan MacDonald and Willow Steig-Boyer had one apiece.

McBain NMC 8, CCA 1
McBain — The Cougars fell to NMC 8- Wednesday in league action. The Cougars were down 5-1 at halftime.

Logan Atchison scored the team’s lone goal and keeper Trinity Murray made six saves.

CCA (1-12, 0-11) hosts Mason County Eastern on Friday.

Chippewa Hills girls track wins 15th-straight CSAA title
REMUS — The Warriors girls captured their 15th CSAA Gold championship in a row by defeating Fremont and Reed City.

The Warriors won seven of 17 events in the meet. Hannah Todd won both the 100-meter dash (13.18) and the 400-meter dash (1:02.65).

Natalie Newcombe won the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:38.66. Marissa Henning and Alex Bialik had personal bests in the shot put (32-2) and 100-meter hurdles (17.92), respectively.

“I think they did very well for having three meets in six days,” head coach Sally Schafer said. “Some of our kids were sore but they performed well. All in all, I’m really happy with the way the team performed. We’re looking forward to regionals next Friday.

Emily Libey placed first in long jump (15-5) for Reed City and Lexi Fitzpatrick placed first in the 200 (28.38) for Big Rapids.

On the boys side, Arvid Perrson won both the 100-meter (11.48) and 200-meter (23.68) dashes for Big Rapids.  The Cardinals won six of 17 events.

Friedrich Zernicke won the 300-meter hurdles (42.14),  pole vault (15-0),  and long jump (22-0) while running a leg of the winning  800-meter relay team (1:39.18).

Reed City’s Isiah Yonkin placed fourth in shot put with a throw of 38-1 and was fourth in discus (105-5).
