BIG RAPIDS — Music will soon be heard throughout Big Rapids’ downtown as the Pocket Park music series will begin Friday, June 2.

Concerts begin at noon and continue until approximately 2 p.m. on Fridays from June through September. The music series is sponsored by Schuberg Insurance Agency and Auto-Owners Insurance, and is organized by the Downtown Business Association.

“Our mission is to keep the downtown vibrant, provide entertainment for the community and recognize organizations that make Big Rapids a great place to work, live and play,” said Rex Schuberg, owner of Schuberg Insurance Agency and DBA member.

Schuberg said the music series provides entertainment for people shopping in the downtown area, including at the farmers market. A local organization will be recognized at each performance.

This year, Schuberg said there are opportunities to sponsor cupcakes and ice cream for those passing through or stopping to listen to the music at Pocket Park.
