Planet D Nonet to play at Friday’s CrossRoads Picnic ShowCase

REED CITY — With a variety of jazz at their fingertips — swing, speakeasy and space-age — Planet D Nonet will perform at the CrossRoads Picnic ShowCase on Friday, Aug. 4, at Rambadt Park.

The concert begins at 7 p.m.

Playing songs from Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson and Paul “Huckle-Buck” Williams, Planet D Nonet, founded in 2007, is Detroit’s five-time award-winning swing band.

Planet D Nonet also is scheduled to perform at this year’s Wheatland Music Festival, Friday, Sept. 8, through Sunday, Sept. 10.

A community- and listener-supported music series, the CrossRoads Picnic ShowCase has performances set each Friday night through the month of August.
