BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls between Friday and Sunday. All calls might not be reported.
Friday
• Police received a walk-in complaint at 10:25 a.m. about a vehicle accident that occurred on North Third Avenue.
• A vehicle accident occurred at 11:12 a.m. on State Street near Bridge Street.
• Police were called at 12:34 p.m. to a domestic assault complaint on the 1100 block of Catherine Street. A 29-year-old man was lodged for assaulting his 23-year-old girlfriend.
• A traffic stop at 12:43 p.m. on Knollview Drive near State Street led to a 23-year-old Missouri man being issued a citation for no insurance.
• Officers performed an area check at 4:42 p.m. for two people possibly sleeping in a vehicle by the dog park. Police were unable to locate the subjects.
• Police performed an area check at 4:47 p.m. on Colburn Avenue for a woman who had a warrant. Officers were unable to locate the woman.
• Officers assisted the Michigan State Police at 6 p.m. with a traffic stop.
• Officers were called at 6:17 p.m. to the Parkview Village Community Garden regarding a subject picking vegetables that don’t belong to them. Officers reviewed video and spoke with the garden manager. The garden manager identified the subject on the video as a garden plot owner. No crime was committed in the reported time frame.
• Officers were called at 9:12 p.m. to the 900 block of Catherine Street regarding suspicious messages found on a phone.
• Officers were called at 10:41 p.m. to 100 block of West Madison Street to perform a well-being check.
Saturday
• At 1:48 a.m., an officer located a subject walking with open container of alcohol on the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue. The 22-year-old man was given a verbal warning and released.
• A traffic stop led to a 40-year-old moped driver being cited for driving with a suspended license.
• A 59-year-old woman reported someone stole a ball hitch attachment from her Jeep in City Lot 4.
• A bike was found near Milton and Dekrafft avenues. It is a blue Huffy, single speed, girls bike.
• A juvenile broke a light bulb outside the west door of a building on the 500 block of North Warren Avenue. The report will be forwarded to probate court depending on what the property owner wants to do.
• Officers were called about a fight in a parking lot on the 200 block of Baldwin Street. A group of tubers fought with a bachelor party, most likely just pushing and shoving occurred. Police will follow up and then submit charges for fighting in public.
• Police received a complaint of a large group of people with loud music on the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue. Officers found them, but the music was not loud.
Sunday
• Officers received a complaint of construction occurring at nearly 2 a.m. on the 400 block of South Michigan Avenue. Police found it was a tile guy working on early morning renovations at a frat house.
• Police received a complaint of suspicious activity on the 100 block of North Michigan Avenue.
• Officers were unable to locate a reported reckless driver near Fourth Avenue and Baldwin Street.
• Police received a report of a woman too drunk to walk on Oak Street near Michigan Avenue. EMS checked her out and she refused a ride home. Her son came and helped her home.
• Officers performed an area check for a report of a blue sports car driving around and honking near the 500 block of North Warren Avenue. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
• Police received a complaint of suspicious activity involving three kids carrying garbage bags full of pizzas.
