Local hunter seeing lots of bucks

BARRYTON— Mark Methner has spent many years bow hunting, but he has the inkling this season could be something special.

Methner was among the attendees at the Central Michigan Hunters Unlimited Banquet on Saturday at St. Michaels School in Remus.

The Barryton resident attended the banquet because of friends but is an active bow and rifle hunter.

“I’ve been seeing lots of bucks on my trail cam,” he said. “Nothing monseous, but tre are some.”

Methner’s largest buck has been a 10-point with a rifle.

Bow hunting starts on Sunday.

“It’s supposed to be cool by the opener, so that will be really good,” he said.
